Chris Evans has opened up about how it felt taking over the role of Buzz Lightyear from Tim Allen.
Evans has voiced the character in Lightyear - the origin story of the character that the Buzz Lightyear toy from Toy Story is based on.
Of course, throughout the Toy Story franchise, the character was voiced by Allen and Evans has now spoken out about taking on such a well-loved role.
Speaking to Variety, Evans admitted the first time he attempted the character’s legendary catchphrase he ended up doing a ‘shameless’ impression of Allen.

He said: “The first time you have to do that iconic line, ‘To Infinity and Beyond…,’ you kind of just do a shameless Tim Allen impression. It’s intimidating.”
But with some help from Lightyear director Angus MacLane and the Pixar team, Evans says he was able to find his own version of the voice.
He added: “Eventually you feel comfortable enough to make your own tracks in the snow and find your own interpretation, while still using Tim Allen as the blueprint.”
Despite his trepidation when it comes to picking up the role, Evans has previously said being offered the job was a ‘dream come true’.
When the news was announced last year, he told Disney: "The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life.

"Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else.
"Watching them work is nothing short of magic. I pinch myself every day.”
Earlier this month, MacLane explained why the studio decided to go with Evans rather than bring Allen back to play the character.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, MacLane said: “Tim’s version of Buzz is a little goofier and is a little dumber, and so he is the comic relief.
"In this film, Buzz is the action hero. He’s serious and ambitious and funny, but not in a goofy way that would undercut the drama.

"Chris Evans has the gravitas and that movie-star quality that our character needed to separate him and the movie from Tim’s version of the toy in Toy Story.”
Lightyear is released in cinemas on 17 June.
