I don’t think any actress is better suited to the part of Belle in Beauty and the Beast than Emma Watson and she has gone and proved it with a snippet of her angelic singing voice.
Who would’ve thought the first leak from the film would be courtesy of a Disney doll?
A fan recorded the doll and posted it on the Internet speculating as to whether it was Emma Watson‘s real voice, only for a producer to later confirm that yes, yes it was.
Even when it’s grainy and coming from the low quality speaker on a Belle doll, Emma’s voice still sounds pretty smooth…
? Well there it is, straight from the shelves at Toys R' Us…? ・・・ @The_West_Wing_ : Get ready for this one guys… FIRST LISTEN AT EMMA SINGING "SOMETHING THERE"!!!! I am officially floored, if she wasn't perfect enough this has absolutely nailed her as #Belle! I cannot wait for this movie!!! ?? Recording taken from the singing Belle Hasbro doll! Not sure who to credit though, sorry! . #BeautyandtheBeast #Disney #EmmaWatson #Belle #BillCondon #BeOurGuest #taleasoldastime
Jack Morrissey, a producer on the new Disney film, posted the clip to his Instagram confirming it is indeed Watson’s voice and said he was ‘officially floored’, Mashable reports.
In the clip she is singing ‘Something There’ as recorded on the dolls ‘straight from the shelves at Toys R’ Us’.
Here’s the extended trailer for the new Disney re-make:
The film has an all-star cast including Dan Stevens as the Beast, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as Le Fou and Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts.
It will grace cinema screens from March 17, 2017.
