Appearing alongside their mums Jackie and Kim, they explained that the rule had been imposed at the youth club they both attended.

Jackie said: “One night they were kissing and one of the staff members went over to Niki and told him it was inappropriate to kiss and we thought what’s the problem, they’ve been doing it for a long time.”

The behaviour was branded as ‘inappropriate’, despite both of them being over 18, but soon the story took a more upbeat turn.

After Jackie revealed her son had something special planned, Niki got up, got down on one knee and asked Samantha to marry him.

Immediately saying yes, the 23-year-old told Niki, 30, that she loved him before the couple hugged.

And it was clear viewers were more than pleased for the pair:

Good on him for having the confidence to propose on live TV.

What a heartwarming story.
