Everyone Is Watching One Of 2020's Best Horrors On Netflix

The Invisible Man, starring Elisabeth Moss, is one of the greatest movies of the past two years and it's on Netflix now.

One of the best, scariest movies of 2020 is finally on Netflix. 'What you can't see, can hurt you.'

February 2020 was the calm before the storm; movies like No Time To Die and A Quiet Place Part II were the domino-toppling catalysts for a cascade of cinematic delays, some of which we've still yet to see, whether it's Top Gun: Maverick or Jackass Forever.

However, just before theatres shuttered their doors and we all retreated to housebound movie-watching for months, one extraordinary horror movie made it to the big screen: The Invisible Man.

The twist on the classic HG Wells tale came from the brilliant mind of Leigh Whannell, the writer of Saw and director of Upgrade. It stars The Handmaid's Tale's Elisabeth Moss as Cecilia Kass, who’s plagued by the apparent invisible presence of her abusive ex-partner, played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen, after escaping their home.

The movie opens on an inhale and rarely loosens its grip on your pulse – throughout, you battle immense frustration as Cecilia is doubted by naysayers. Yet, we see her terrifying mental and physical torment behind closed doors in ways that are often unbearably difficult to endure. Moss' performance was snubbed in awards season, and Whannell's dazzling talent speaks for itself.

Nearly two years after its release, it still boasts a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus describing it as 'smart, well-acted, and above all scary... The Invisible Man proves that sometimes, the classic source material for a fresh reboot can be hiding in plain sight.'

After its recent addition to Netflix in the UK, it's sitting comfortably at number six on the platform's top 10 chart, with viewers taking to social media to recommend it to others. 'If you are looking for a film to watch tonight, I can recommend The Invisible Man on Netflix... ooft! Had me on the edge of my seat. A modern twist on the H.G. Wells classic. It’s good. Frighteningly good, like scary thriller good,' one user wrote.

'Just watched The Invisible Man on Netflix. 10/10. Elizabeth Moss brilliant as ever,' another wrote. 'I fully recommend the Netflix film The Invisible Man, I’ve never watched something so intense but yet so bloody good! Well worth the two hours can honestly watch it all over again!' a third tweeted. 'You guys, The Invisible Man is on Netflix and everyone should watch it,' a fourth wrote.
