Ewan McGregor Actually Uses The Force To Open Supermarket Doors

Ewan McGregor reveals that he uses the force in everyday life.

Ewan McGregor has revealed that he uses the Force to help him open doors.

Star Wars fans will be delighted by the news that McGregor, who plays beloved Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, uses the Force in his everyday life.

McGregor is currently on a press tour ahead of the launch of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, which is set to premiere on Disney+ on 25 May.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, McGregor was then asked whether he's ever used a Jedi mind trick, to which he replied that he has been accused by people who are trying to be funny – not that they'd ever know if he did use a mind trick.

Still, McGregor said that while he didn't have Jedi mind tricks down, the Force has helped him literally open doors.

He explained: "I always do a little Jedi move for [automatic] doors" – admittedly, we do this too.

It also works if you put your card up your sleeve and wave your hand over an Oyster card reader.

The Jedi Master continued to explain that he has occasionally been caught using the force on doors 'at the supermarket or something when I'm wheeling my trolly out' because it make him laugh.

Honestly, a trip to the big Tesco with McGregor is sounding pretty great right now.

However, the star did say it was a little embarrassing to be caught attempting to use the Force.

Still, he noted that his kids seem 'impervious' to the whole Jedi mind trick, saying: "They don't care, it doesn't work on them."

According to the series description, Obi-Wan Kenobi follows the Jedi Master '10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where he faced his greatest defeat, the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker'.

The series also sees Hayden Christensen return as Darth Vader, and is being directed by Deborah Chow.

Chow was at the helm of memorable episodes of The Mandalorian, so it's sure to be a hit with fans.

It has been 17 years since McGregor and Christensen graced our screens in their iconic roles, and we can't wait to see them reunited.
