Keanu Reeves’ puppy avenging assassin John Wick is back in action this month in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
Lethal even with just a pencil to hand, Wick is a boogeyman you never want to encounter, which is why we love him.
Both of the previous films were well received by critics who praised the thrilling action sequences, the stunning cinematography and Reeves’ performance, with many describing it as a return to form.
The sequel earned a similar response, and now the third chapter has too with critics promising fans won’t be disappointed.
Following several screenings of the upcoming film, critics have been sharing their reactions on social media and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Brent Goldman from Film Inquiry thought it was the best John Wick movie yet, writing:
John Wick 3 is action at its finest. It raises the bar for the franchise and adds new depth to the John Wick universe. Asia Kate Dillon, Halle Berry and Mark Dacascos are all great additions.
It also features what may be my favorite kill of all three films.
Wick certainly uses his imagination when it comes to killing his enemies, so I’m intrigued to see what makes this kill so fantastic.

Screen Junkies’ Josh Tapia agreed with Goldman that it’s the greatest installment so far, tweeting:
I was lucky enough to catch a screening of John Wick 3 early and I can confirm it’s all the awesome you’re hoping for! Action wise it’s the best of the franchise with a great mix of gun and hand to hand combat.
Also that Halle Berry/Dog scene.

Vinnie Mancuso from Collider was, like Wick himself, a big fan of the dogs:
I cannot even begin to describe how good the dogs in John Wick 3 are.
If the first movie is ‘the one where the dog dies’ this is like, Revenge of the Dogs: These Dogs Chomp Dicks.

Mike Rougeau of IGN Movies however did admit he feels the film is ‘controversial’ at times:
John Wick 3 continues to build on the series’ mythology and has some of the coolest action and most memorable side characters of the entire series. I’m not sure about everything it adds, and certain things will be controversial (no spoilers).

Wick’s future didn’t look good at the end of the second film when not only was he declared ‘excommunicado’ from the Continental, but a global bounty was offered putting $14 million dollars on his life.
I honestly can’t wait to see him kick allllll those assassins’ asses!
Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, Lance Reddick and Ruby Rose are all set to reprise their roles from the last films, with Halle Berry joining the cast as Sofia, an assassin who wants to help John bring down the High Table once and for all.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is set for release on May 17.
