Martin Scorsese’s 1990 classic, Goodfellas, is without doubt one of the greatest gangster films ever made – and now it’s coming back.
Widely renowned, not only as one of the greatest gangster films ever made, but as one of the greatest films full stop – Goodfellas follows the true story of wiseguy Henry Hill and his rise and fall in the mafia world, reports Konbini.
Starring Ray Liotta, Robert DeNiro, and Joe Pesci, the film is based on the non fiction book, Wiseguy: Life in a Mafia Family, which was released back in 1985.
Though it would be impossible to make any improvements to Goodfellas one thing I’ve always wanted to see, as far back as I can remember, is Goodfellas on the big screen – and now it’s coming.
Almost three decades after its original release the classic is set to be featuring in cinemas up and down the UK early next year beginning on January 20.
And what’s better? The film is not only being shown, but is being shown in never-before-seen 4k restoration courtesy of the British Film Institute and Warner Bros.
To commemorate such a monumental occasion for gangster film fans across the globe, a brand new trailer has been released and it’s as cool as it’s ever been.
I sure know what I’ll be doing in January.
