Cinema-goers ‘screaming out loud’ after watching 'scary as f***' horror Insidious: The Red Door

There's a new horror movie out and some film fans have been screaming in fear

The latest movie in the Insidious horror series has just released and it has audiences screaming in their cinemas.

Insidious: The Red Door is the fifth and potentially final film in the series of horror movies which kicked off in 2010, and has gone on to enjoy big box office success ever since.

Even before people have been in the cinema, they've been scared out of their wits as the movie's advertising campaign featured a red door on Hollywood Boulevard which people were invited to open.

Once they did so, someone would jump out at them and test just how close to a massive heart attack they were - but it seems to have worked for drumming up interest.

Fans have even been scared by the trailers for the movie, with some admitting a particular scene had them never wanting to get an MRI scan again.

Oh look, someone's come to see you. I'm sure nothing bad will happen.

There have been plenty who've seen the film and now hopped onto social media to praise it as 'scary and fun', which sounds like a good combination for a horror movie.

Another fan called Insidious: The Red Door a 'satisfying wrap-up to the franchise' so they enjoyed it, but it sounds like they're not expecting any more Insidious after this one.

A third said they'd been 'screaming out loud' in the cinema because it was so scary, while another dubbed the movie 'scary as f**k', which is exactly the sort of review they're looking for.

Someone else said it was 'a good watch with jump scares at the right places', but admitted that sometimes it feels like the movie 'drags' and they'd recommend it 'only if you're a fan of the Insidious franchise'.

Considering this is the fifth movie in the series, you might have thought that was a given, as it's not exactly the ideal starting point for new entrants.

What's going on here? I guess you'll have to watch the movie to find out.

However, not everyone's found the movie to be successful at scaring audiences as some who've seen it didn't end up screaming in their seats.

One said it was a 'letdown' which got stuck between 'family drama' and being 'spooky' which left them 'disappointed'.

Another said the film was 'downright bad' and commits a cardinal sin for horror movies as it 'isn't scary at all', while feeling it was 'longer than it should be'.

A third said it was 'a really good call' if Insidious: The Red Door was the end of the franchise, so it's pretty safe to say they didn't like it.
