Jake Paul 'Knocks Out' NBA Mascot As He Gets Called Out Courtside

Fans aren't convinced the fight was legit

Footage has emerged of the moment Jake Paul KOd the Houston Rockets’ mascot at a recent NBA match.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was sat courtside as he watched the team take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night (3 April), only for the team's mascot, Clutch the Rocket Bear, to come over and confront him.

In a clip shared by Def Noodles, the bear can be seen donning a classic red boxing robe and gloves as he appears to call on Jake for a match.

After a few moments of playful jabs, the 25-year-old vlogger gets up and lands a right hand on Clutch, sending the bear straight to the ground.

Crowds cheer and gasp at the move, and while at first it appeared to be a ruthless KO, fans were quick to notice the fact that the whole thing was probably a bit.

First up, the security didn’t intervene, which you can assume they would’ve done had this not been setup. Secondly, Clutch was clearly prepared for the punch-up, what with his boxing gear. And last but definitely not least, this is Jake Paul we’re talking about, aka one of the internet’s biggest pranksters.

People took to the comment section to point this out, with one writing, “Another staged fight.” A second said, “This is obviously fake or security would have been all over him,” while a third added, “It’s a skit.”

Others referenced the fact that Jake shared the clip alongside the caption, “Will Smith’d em,” to which one responded, “Why do the Paul brothers just need to make EVERYTHING about them?”

Fake fighting aside, the Rockets actually lost against the Timberwolves that night. Jake had been attending as he found himself in the area, having watched his brother Logan Paul at Wrestlemania 38 the previous evening.

Speaking of which, the YouTuber-turned-boxer-turned-wrestler (ahem) left fans both baffled and suspicious after posting a 'three-day body transformation' he undertook ahead of the WWE event.

The 27-year-old made his professional wrestling debut that night, where he teamed up with The Miz to secure a win in a tag team match against father-son duo Rey and Dominick Mysterio.

Paul made clear he was prepared for the event as he took to Twitter to discuss his workout routine – though rather than spending months in the gym to obtain a toned stomach and muscled back, he claims to have achieved his new look in just three days.

Alongside before-and-after photos, he wrote: "3 day body transformation I did for WrestleMania. I maintained a regiment of 100 push-ups and 100 sit-ups every day for 3 days in a row. Very happy with the results."

Three days seems a stretch but there's nothing out there to prove Paul wrong, although I will suggest the same as I did with Jake’s ‘KO’ – best to take what these two say with a pinch of salt.
