Jim Carrey has revelled what could convince him to do Ace Ventura 3 and understandably, people are excited.
Carrey, an on-screen comedic legend, has built a firm fan following from his pet detective role alone... and not to mention his many other hilarious movies, including the likes of Dumb and Dumber, Liar Liar, and The Mask.
And in a recent interview, Carrey has hinted at what could tempt him back into the iconic role of the pet detective.
Talking recently to E! News about his upcoming role in Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and his most iconic movie roles, Carrey said that it would take something 'really special' to see a third Ace Ventura move.

"I think after the fact, when there’s been a lot of years, unless some genius person, director, auteur comes to you with a completely new take on what’s going on, you know. If Chris Nolan came to me and said ‘I want to make Ace Ventura real and I want to do something, you know, something more interesting’... then I might listen."
"But for the most part, you know, after a certain time there’s not one cell in your body that is that person anymore so you end up just imitating what you did in the old days and the original inspiration isn’t there," he continued.
So, it seems it all falls upon the Denmark director to persuade Carrey, but we'd love to see them collaborate.
Carrey has been in the news recently as the actor said that he's 'fairly serious' about retiring from acting, as per Complex.

The Dumb and Dumber actor also caught headlines following the Oscars controversy that saw Will Smith slap Chris Rock.
Weighing in on the situation, Carrey said he was 'sickened by the standing ovation' at the ceremony, continuing: "I felt like Hollywood is just spineless, en masse, and it really felt like this is a really clear indication that we aren’t the cool club anymore.”
He then proceeded to say that Smith should have been taken out of the room and arrested for his actions.
"I would have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million, because that video is going to be there forever, it’s going to be ubiquitous."
However, Rock declined to press charges following the incident, with a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson saying the department was 'aware of an incident between two individuals during the Academy Awards program.'

The statement, cited by Entertainment Weekly, continued: "The incident involved one individual slapping another. The individual involved has declined to file a police report. If the involved party desires a police report at a later date, LAPD will be available to complete an investigative report."
