John Lewis Advert Created On A Shoestring is Heartwarmingly Rubbish
So after the ridiculously, huge success of the ever anticipated, annual John Lewis Christmas advert, the crew at MyVoucherCodes have decided to do their own, but on a decidedly smaller budget.
The already infamous John Lewis ad, cost a whopping £6 million to make and a lengthy 6 months to create, whereas these guys spent just £600, (in comparison) and 6 hours of their day, creating their own much more comical, tongue-in-cheek version.
It may not have had the go-all-out, staggering Hollywood film budget, that John Lewis are lucky enough to get every year , but it’s crazy how the cost of pipe cleaners and googly eyes can add up…(£600 though, really?! How?! How??)
Here’s the John Lewis, mega-bucks, all singing, all dancing, super professional, shit-hot, slick vid featuring the real Buster Boxer:
And here’s MyVoucherCodes hilarious spoof featuring Buster made from the crafts section of Wilkos:
There you go.
It’s undeniably, heartwarmingly, beautiful and decidedly amusing.
The guys didn’t just bang it together though, they enlisted actors, directors and creatives from the School of Communication Arts to put together this piece of festive fun.
Hands down though, my favourite character is this chap. Screw Buster.
Well whatever your loyalty and love for the original, you can’t fault these guys creativity, nor can you stop that smile cracking across your face.
Admit it, you feel fuzzy inside.
Happy festive season!
