Jordan Peele's New Horror Gets First Creepy Trailer

Nope, the next horror from Jordan Peele after Get Out and Us, will hit cinemas later this year.

Yep, the first trailer for Jordan Peele's Nope is here.

Pre-2017, his fame stemmed solely from the world of comedy. Key and Peele still provides laughs even now, his TV exploits are bountiful, and it's not like he's turned his back on the genre; later this year, he's reuniting with Keegan-Michael Key for Henry Selick's first feature film since Coraline, said to be a mixture of dark fantasy and comedy.

However, it's fair to say he's now a household name on another level entirely. Get Out earned acclaim beyond his wildest dreams, winning him an Oscar for Best Screenplay and even nabbing a Best Picture nomination. Us, his sophomore follow-up, was a critical and commercial smash-hit. Are you ready for his next movie? Nope.

What can we even tell you about Nope? It's written and directed by Peele, it's definitely a horror movie, and it's due for release in July this year. Hoyte van Hoytema, who did the cinematography for Interstellar and Tenet, has been enlisted as DP, while Michael Abels, the composer behind Peele's previous movies, has also returned.

While their exact roles haven't been confirmed, it stars Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Barbie Ferreira, Brandon Perea and Michael Wincott.

In an earlier interview with Kaluuya, he teased a possible reunion with Peele following the stratospheric success of Get Out. 'Jordan is a brilliant mind – every person in this industry wants to work with him. I had an incredible experience with him, we built something that’s really special for us. If he feels that he wants to talk to me about working together, then that’d be something I’d wanna talk about,' he told UNILAD.

Keke Palmer, who's also starring in Disney's Lightyear later this summer, spoke to Hollywood Life about 'manifesting' the role.

'What is so funny is I realised that when I started doing Nope, I went to Jordan Peele’s messages. For whatever reason why, and I see in the messages that I had messaged him a year ago saying, ‘Hey, it would be a dream to work with you. I would love to get the opportunity to maybe one day. Thank you for everything you’re doing'. And then a year or two years later, I’m doing Nope,' she revealed.

Apart from that, there's not much else to say. The first poster for the film showed an 'evil cloud' hanging about a small, rural town, with what looks like kite string or bunting drifting in the wind. Other than that, plot details are being kept in absolute secrecy.

Nope will hit cinemas on July 22 this year.
