Josh Brolin responds to viral x-rated Dune popcorn bucket that left fans horrified

The cast have been discussing *that* bucket

Josh Brolin has responded to *that* x-rated Dune popcorn bucket.

With the sci-fi blockbuster just weeks away from hitting the big screen, the anticipation for the movie is certainly building.

So much so that last month, someone shared a photo of a rather peculiar looking popcorn bucket, intended for fans to use while watching the film.

But it had people talking for all the wrong reasons, thanks to its x-rated style.

If you've not seen it yet, it features a lid in the shape of one of Arrakis' giant worms, which have layers upon layers of razor-sharp teeth.

Instead of being scary though, fans have been in hysterics due to it's rather unfortunate resemblance to something else.

Yep, people are saying the popcorn bucket looks like a 'fleshlight'.

But while it has not been officially confirmed where and if these buckets are going to be sold - it hasn't stopped it from being turned into an internet meme.

The bucket is meant to represent a worm's mouth.

As people all over the world have been laughing at the bucket, Josh Brolin - who stars in the movie - has now weighed in on it himself.

And it turns out that Brolin won't be purchasing one himself - or even putting his hand anywhere near it.

"I'm not sticking my hand in that, I'll starve. I think it's super inventive but I'm not gonna' stick my hand in there. If I saw a bunch of people in the theater with one of those buckets... I'm gonna be like, 'Ok, you're an idiot,'" he told Entertainment Tonight.

Meanwhile, co-star Zendaya also couldn't get her head around it, adding: "It's weird... you can't get anything out of it, it pulls to popcorn out of your hand."

And Timothée Chalamet added: "Someone might be offended right now or someone's going this is exactly how I planned it."

This is the reference the buckets were going for.

Dune: Part 2 will be hitting cinemas on March 1 in the US.

The second instalment will follow Paul Atreides (Chalamet) as he unites with Chani (Zendaya) to get revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family.

Ahead of the film, some people are suggesting that the film's marketing team 'knew what they were doing' when the popcorn bucket was launched.

"My conspiracy theory is they knew and they're playing us like fiddles with all the free marketing and also money they're gonna make when we all buy this ironically," one person wrote online.
