Lost Voice Guy has been crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent after an incredibly close finale to the show.

The popular comedy act has captured the hearts of the nation and beaten the competition to the prize at the close of the series.

Dec presented the show with an incredibly opening number before introducing each of the 11 competitors, but none could beat the heartwarming charm of Lost Voice Guy.

Lost Voice Guy, real name Lee Ridley, is a stand-up comedian who uses a computer to voice his routine because he can’t talk.

He suffers from cerebral palsy, so pre-records his routines and uses a voice synthesizer on a tablet.

The final was a tense showdown between Ridley, fellow comedian Robert White and Donchez Dacres.

The Newcastle-born comedian was incredibly nervous on the stage as he waited for the results to be read out by Dec, and the entire auditorium erupted in applause when his name was called.

Grabbing the mic when he ran up on stage, Simon Cowell congratulated Ridley and said it was incredibly deserved.

He also took a moment to congratulate Dec on the great job he had done in presenting the show without his right-hand man Ant McPartlin.

Earlier this week, Ridley suffered a nasty fall at the hotel in which he was staying, but was adamant he would complete the final despite his injuries.

He wrote at the time:

This is why Lost Balance Guy never made it onto BGT. Don’t worry though, it was only a trip. I’ll be match fit for the final on Sunday!

Speaking to The Sun, he added:

After such an amazing night in my semi final, I tripped over when I got back to my hotel on Monday night.

Lost Voice Guy became Lost Balance Guy for a moment. Don’t worry though, I’m feeling fine again now and am looking forward to the final.

I bet he’s glad he did persevere through the injuries, he’s got a great career ahead of him now because of it. Congratulations Lee!
