Get ready for the fight of your life, as Netflix is launching a real life version of Squid Game – and they're taking applications right now.
The South Korean show became a global phenomenon when it dropped on the streamer last September, with many people left wondering how far they'd get if the challenges were real.
Well, at least 456 people will no longer have to ponder this question, as Squid Game: The Challenge has been given the greenlight (get it?).
The 10-episode reality competition series will be filmed in the UK, inviting English-speaking people from across the globe to compete for a cash prize – the only difference to the real Squid Game is, unsurprisingly, no one dies at the end.

Per the official synopsis: "With both the largest cast and lump sum cash prize in reality TV history, 456 real players will enter the game in pursuit of a life-changing reward of $4.56 million.
"As they compete through a series of games inspired by the original show – plus surprising new additions – their strategies, alliances, and character will be put to the test while competitors are eliminated around them.
"The stakes are high, but in this game the worst fate is going home empty-handed."

Speaking about the new reality show, Brandon Riegg, Netflix VP of unscripted and documentary series, said: “Squid Game took the world by storm with Director Hwang’s captivating story and iconic imagery. That should fill the Squid Game-shaped hole in our hearts as we wait for season two to arrive.
Speaking of which, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk recently opened up about what's in store for the second season.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, he said he currently has three pages' worth of ideas for the script and – the bit we're most excited about – there will definitely be more games.
"Humanity is going to be put to a test through those games once again," he teased.
