Netflix has added a warning before Stranger Things ahead of its release on the streaming platform.
The warning card comes following the devastating school shooting this week where 18-year-old Salvador Ramos shot and killed 19 students and two teachers at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas.
The gunman, who was subsequently shot and killed on the site by police officers, reportedly alluded to the upcoming fatal attack via his social media platforms, Erick Estrada of the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

Following the horrific events, Netflix has since issued a warning ahead of Stranger Things' season four premiere.

Set, in 1980s Indiana, the hit sci-fi series follows the a group of school-age friends as they embark on a whole host of adventures, from supernatural sightings to unravelling political secrets.
It has been confirmed that the streaming platform has added a warning card to the debut episode of the latest season as a direct response to the Texas shooting that took place on 24 May.
It reads: "We filmed this season of Stranger Things a year ago. But given the recent tragic shooting at a school in Texas, viewers may find the opening scene of episode 1 distressing. We are deeply saddened by this unspeakable violence, and our hearts go out to every family mourning a loved one."

The warning label, only viewable to those watching in the US, is set to play just before the recap of the previous season.
Not only has the streaming platform adding a warning card to the new season, but it has also tweaked the description of the television show.
It is now tagged with: "Warning: Contains graphic violence involving children."

The first episode of the long-awaited season four shows a flashback scene from Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown.
In this scene, she uses her supernatural telekinetic powers to kill almost everyone in the Hawkins laboratory - including a number of other children.
Given the devastating events that took place only a matter of days before the season airs, many are supporting Netflix's decision to take the precaution in adding a warning label for viewers.
The first seven episodes of season four of Stranger Things will be available to stream today on Netflix and the final two will hit the streaming platform in July.
