Best. Christmas. Ever! released on the popular streaming platform on Thursday (16 November), adding to the growing list of Christmas films to get through this year.

Directed by Mary Lambert, Best. Christmas. Ever! has been dubbed as 'weird' by some of those who have watched it.

An official synopsis for the film reads: "Every Christmas Jackie sends a boastful holiday newsletter that makes her old college friend Charlotte feel like a lump of coal. When a twist of fate lands Charlotte and her family on Jackie's snowy doorstep just days before Christmas, she seizes the opportunity to prove her old friend's life can't possibly be that perfect."

Best. Christmas. Ever! stars the likes of Heather Graham, Jason Biggs, Brandy Norwood and Matt Cedeno.

After watching the film, many Netflix subscribers have flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter, to provide their opinions.

Replying to a thread discussing the movie, one film buff wrote: "I'm so obsessed," while another added: "This was quite a weird movie."

Weird can honestly go one of two ways cant it? But if you listen to the opinion of industry critics, then Best. Christmas. Ever! is a bit of a mixed bag.

The film currently sits at a 40 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, with its audience score sitting at a lowly 16 percent.

Benjamin Lee, from the Guardian, said: "At less than 80 minutes, it’s barely even a movie, more one long montage of bits that never run on long enough to be defined as scenes."

Screen Rant's Ferdosa Abdi added: "Best. Christmas. Ever! is not the most splendiferous Christmas movie ever, but it will satisfy those hungry for new sentimental holiday movies."

On the other hand, Romey Norton's review for Ready Steady Cut was more positive, as it read: "Christmas films should be filled with magic, hope, and all the trimming and traditions to get you in the holiday spirit. Best. Christmas. Ever! does this with its colorful sets, intense decorations, huge snowfalls, and family traditions."
