Netflix fans have been getting hot under the collar following news of a new feature, but the truth has turned out to be anti-climactic.
Over the weekend, Netflix fans went into a bit of a frenzy after learning about an apparent new 'foreplay' feature.
According to a supposed screen grab from the Netflix app, the streamer was said to be offering a feature which could make watching some of our favourite shows with company a million times less awkward.

Particularly for shows such as Bridgerton - with season 3 due very soon - and The Witcher.
And as you could probably guess, the option was said to allow you to watch your favourite shows without seeing the racy content.
Certainly ideal if you plan on watching those shows with kids or parents.

“Skip the foreplay, literally,” the screenshot posted to X read. “Make family movie night less awkward by deleting naughty scenes from this show.”
The image went viral thanks to a tweet by Soren Iverson, who wrote: "Netflix ‘skip the foreplay’ feature removes naughty scenes to make family movie night less awkward.”

One film fan wrote: "That’s actually an amazing idea."
A second said: "I would pay for this feature. No kidding."
Another said: "Would’ve really benefited from this when watching Oppenheimer on the plane a few weeks ago. Smh. I can’t blush. But if I could.. I would’ve been so red."
But, despite people's excitement, the truth was ultimately a letdown.
Yep, as you may have guessed, it was all just a joke with a Photoshopped image, leaving the 21 million people who viewed the tweet bitterly disappointed.

"Well this blew up. I make unhinged stuff like this daily so if you lol’d at this (or breathed through the nose a lil at least), then pls DEMOLISH that follow button," Iverson added.
Many have since flocked to the comments section of the post after being left disappointed the feature is not a thing.
Some, however, were hoping Netflix was watching and taking notes.
One wrote: "I think there is an actual demand for this kind of thing."

A second said: "I hope they actually add this."
While a third joked: "You guys are so weak. Watching a surprise sex scene with your entire family builds character."
Sadly, we'll just have to resort to staring at our phone awkwardly when a steamy scene comes on during family film night for now.
