Trailer for part two of Netflix's most expensive movie of 2023 has dropped

Rebel Moon Part 2's trailer has just been released in a surprise Christmas day drop.

Netflix has dropped the trailer for the second part of Rebel Moon, its most expensive film of 2023.

Some social media fans have been hoping that the second part of the sci-fi epic will be able to expand upon the first in impactful ways.

Rebel Moon Part 1 was Netflix most expensive film for the year, and is a story which follows a corrupt central government on the 'Motherworld' and a growing rebel resistance on the more distant worlds.

While the streaming giant had high hopes for the film, it got off to a pretty rocky start with critics.

It currently sits at 23% on Rotten Tomators after 132 reviews.

Unfortunately, audiences weren’t much kinder, but were a little less critical as the film maintains a score of 66 percent after more than 5,000 reviews.

On the YouTube trailer video, some fans have expressed enjoyment with the first. but admitted they hope the second part is significantly better.

“I need it to have a really good character build-up (for all major characters) and world building and a little less slomo just for the sake of inserting slomo. But I've been a fan of Sofia and I think she's very underrated,” one user wrote.

“The best part of the first one was the 40 min in the village, the fact that the second one will take place 90 % of the time in there gives me hope that this one may actually be a good movie,” added another.

“I know some people are 50/50 with the first Rebel Moon but personally I love it tho and can’t wait to see both the Rated R cut and this sequel,” another commented.

“Ooh boy I really wanted to like the first one.. it was pretty damn rough,”

So fans have high hopes, but are still holding their breath on whether part 2 can deliver.
