First trailer for Godzilla X Kong leaves everyone wondering the same thing

Did you notice it?

The Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire trailer has officially dropped, and fans have all been asking the same thing.

There have been dozens of Godzilla movies over the years (38, to be precise), but Godzilla X Kong marks the fifth American-made film about the Japanese-created monster.

Both Kong and Godzilla have had numerous action packed movies, each boasting an all-star cast.

From Millie Bobby Brown and Tom Hiddleston, to Bryan Cranston and Brie Larson; a host of famous faces have featured in the movies.

And it won't be any different for Godzilla X Kong as Stranger Things favorite Brown will be reprising her role of Madison Russell, while the likes of Dan Stevens and Rebecca Hall will also feature in the new film.

The trailer for the 2024 movie dropped yesterday (December 3) and has already amassed over six million views on YouTube.

With that in mind, those who have seen it have shared their thoughts on the highly anticipated movie - and one question kept creeping up from Godzilla fans.

Why is Godzilla pink all of a sudden?

"Why is it pink???" someone asked on Instagram.

"Pink Godzilla," said a second next to two face-palm emojis.

A third wrote on X: "Why the f**k is Godzilla pink???"

While some don't appear to appreciate Godzilla's new look, others were here for it.

"Not Godzilla being in his Barbenheimer era. All we need now is a pink atomic cloud and he fits right in," quipped one person.

Someone else raved: "That new pink godzilla looks f**king awesome."

"That Pink look on Godzilla is really cool tho. NGL," another fan wrote.

"Godzilla looking like a f**king BOSS," said someone else.

It isn't thought that Godzilla is suddenly pink for purely aesthetic purposes though; some have argued that it means that the monster is stronger than ever.

For those of you who saw Godzilla Vs Kong, you'll know that the two titans came to blows with each other and, while Godzilla proved victorious, he still took a decent beating from Kong.

With this in mind - in terms of the film timeline - it's thought that Godzilla has been hibernating and healing since their fight and comes back stronger than ever.

Typically Godzilla's radiation is blue, but questions have been raised that he has since 'powered up' to pink radiation.

Either way, the ginormous monster looks ready to kick a** in the new movie.

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire is set to hit cinemas on April 12.
