Jimmy Kimmel destroys Donald Trump as he reads out president's review of his Oscars hosting live on air

Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel has delivered a withering put down to Donald Trump after the former president posted his 'review' of Kimmel's hosting.

Jimmy Kimmel loves to get a rise out of former President Donald Trump and took full advantage of his position hosting the Oscars to take a dig at him.

After coming back from a break, Kimmel read a post from Truth Social that Trump levied at the host and had some sassy jokes to hit him back with.

"Has there EVER been a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars. His opening was that of a less than average person trying too hard to be something which he is not, and never can be," Trump wrote in the post.

"Get rid of Kimmel and perhaps replace him with another washed up, but cheap, ABC 'talent.' George Slopanopoulos. He would make everybody on stage look bigger, stronger, and more glamorous.

"Also a really bad politically correct show tonight, and for years - Disjointed, boring, and very unfair. Why don't they just give the Oscars to those that deserve them. Maybe that way their audience and TV ratings will come back from the depths."

He concluded: "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

Ahead of hitting back, Kimmel said he was ‘proud’ of Trump’s post and insisted hosting the awards ceremony was less about him and more the actors and actresses of the industry.

Not one to shy away from a clash with Trump, Kimmel said: “See if you can guess which former President posted that on Truth Social.

“Thank you President Trump, thank you for watching, I’m surprised, isn’t it past your jail time?”

The room then erupted in laugher and cheers as they delighted in Trump’s ongoing legal issues.

Now facing a staggering 91 criminal counts, if found guilty of a single one he could become the first convicted criminal to be appointed President of the United States.

He would also be the first person to be re-elected to a non-consecutive term in more than 130 years; the last person to do this was Democrat Grover Cleveland in 1892.

On social media, Kimmel has been getting a mixed response from viewers about how he dealt with Trump however.

Many remarking that this was the perfect way to address Trump’s behavior, calling it out as bizarre and mocking it.

While others insisted Trump had told the truth and is regularly the butt of lazy jokes.
