If you were going to come out of retirement for anyone, it would be for Martin Scorsese.
Scorsese often publicly shares the actors on his list of who he'd like to work with again, and previously voiced his hopes of working with Leonardo DiCaprio again after The Departed's Oscar win.
"Leo DiCaprio - six and a half years of work we've done together, I hope another 12 or 15 [years]," he said at the 2007 ceremony.
Fast forward to 2021 and Scorsese got what he wanted as production started for Killers of the Flower Moon, starring DiCaprio as its lead.

With a track record of getting what he wants, film fans are now optimistic that Daniel Day-Lewis might come out of retirement to work with Scorsese again.
The pair have previously worked together on Gangs of New York (2002) and The Age of Innocence (1993).
Day-Lewis officially quit acting in 2017 after his film Phantom Thread was released, and has largely stayed out of the spotlight ever since.
But the actor made a rare public appearance at yesterday's National Board of Review Awards (January 11) to honor Scorsese, who won the award for Best Director for Killers of the Flower Moon.
Speaking to the crowd in his acceptance speech, the 81-year-old said: "Thank you, Daniel. To receive this honor presented by Daniel is just an honor in itself.

"We did two films together and it’s one of the greatest experiences of my life, I must say. Maybe there’s time for one more. Maybe! He’s the best."
People on social media have since gone wild at the prospect of Day-Lewis, 66, returning to acting, with many arguing that Scorsese would be the only one to make it happen.
"DD Lewis performances are an incredible treat. Scorcese may be the only person to pull him out of retirement," one person wrote.
"Scorsese managed to get Joe Pesci to do another film with him in The Irishman so maybe he’ll be able to do the same with DDL," said another.

A third added: "Yesss only Marty can bring him back from retirement."
Scorsese's hopes came after Day-Lewis hailed working with Scorsese as 'one of the greatest joys' of his life.
"One of the greatest joys and most unexpected privileges of my life was to find myself one day working with him," the Lincoln star said.

"I’m grateful to the National Board of Review for so justly recognizing the supreme, inimitable artistry of this man.
"To every person who works in the crucible of the imagination, he is a living treasure as a man and as a filmmaker I love and revere."
