New The Boys spin-off confirmed to be in the works with Andor star

The Boys fans are flying to social media over news of a third spin-off set in Mexico City.

The Boys fans are flying to social media over news of a third spin-off set in Mexico City.

The Amazon Prime satirical superhero TV show first aired in 2019 and has gone on for three seasons.

While season four is in the works and spin-off series Gen V and The Boys Presents: Diabolical premiered earlier this year, fans are reportedly set to be able to indulge in yet another superhero drama.

Sources have told Deadline that a new spin-off of The Boys has been confirmed and it's set to take place in Mexico.

It's being developed by Amazon MGM Studios, Eric Kripke's Kripke Enterprises, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen’s Point Grey Pictures, Neil H. Moritz’s Original Film and Sony Pictures Television, the outlet reports.

The series will be written by original writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer and the executive producers are reportedly Andor star Diego Luna and Cassandro's Gael García Bernal.

You may recognise Luna from his role as Cassian Andor, a very different type of hero, the actor giving a whole new perspective on the character compared to previously seen in Rogue One.

But will he take on the role of a hero again?

Luna and Bernal may even dip their toes into acting in the series, the sources told Deadline, however, casting has yet to be announced and the budget for the series is still reportedly being worked out.

Andor star Diego Luna is reportedly set to executive produce the spin-off.

With fans having hailed Gen V as even better than The Boys, many can't wait to see what happens when the spin-off of the original is transported to Mexico.

While little else has been said surrounding the spin-off, that hasn't stopped The Boys fans from flocking to social media in excitement over the news.

One X user said: "This promises to be an electrifying expansion of the 'The Boys' universe."

"That's interesting news! Spinoff shows can offer new perspectives and expand the fictional universe of the original series. It will be exciting to see how 'The Boys' unfolds in a Mexican setting," another added.

A third commented: "LETS GO!!! So excited for this. Loved the original series."

And a fourth resolved: "Was NOT expecting that but we are down with more and more from The Boys universe!"

UNILAD has contacted Amazon Prime for comment.
