Adam Sandler, 56, has been the star of slapstick comedy for decades now and while he's recently branched out into some more serious roles - loyal fans certainly haven't forgotten his comedic roots.
Before the likes of Uncut Gems and Hustle - Sandler worked on heaps of movies yet less than a handful only ever received sequels.

Working under his production company founded in 1999, Happy Madison Productions, Sandler was responsible for the likes of Little Nicky, The Longest Yard and 50 First Dates hitting our screens - just to name a few.
However, it is still relatively unknown why the comedian doesn't tend to do sequels.
When asked by ScreenRant if he'd ever make a sequel of his classic films Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, he said: "I don't think about it, but those two [films] - I loved doing them. They're big ideas.
"Going back to school was fun for Billy, and then Happy Gilmore playing golf - there's something there. I don't know. We'll see. I doubt it, though."
But it doesn't seem like he is opposed to the idea either, as he later said on the Variety Awards Circuit podcast in 2022: "“Wouldn’t that be fun to do the senior tour of Happy Gilmore, and hang out with all those guys and try to write a great script about Happy as an older guy, and having to calm down his temper and all that stuff?”

Grown Ups

The 2010 comedy boasts a star-studded cast including Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph.
The plot follows five old - and slightly unhinged - friends reuniting after their childhood basketball coach passed away to celebrate a Fourth of July holiday weekend.
And just three years later, Grown Ups 2 was released to cinemas - acting as Sandler's first-ever sequel of his decades-spanning career.
While the sequel didn't earn quite so much as the first Grown Ups, it still took home a respectable $247 million at the box office. Not bad for his first sequel ever.

The actor's second-ever sequel was totally different both in genre and form to the 2010 flick.
Unlike the majority of his portfolio of work, Hotel Transylvania, released in 2012, was an animated comedy with Sandler voicing the lead character, Count Dracula.
Joining Sandler in the voice acting department was Brooklyn 99's Andy Samberg, as well as Key & Peele's Keegan-Michael Key.

The family-friendly comedy grossed an impressive $358.4 million and has since paved the way for an entire Hotel Transylvania franchise.
The series grew tremendously, adding Hotel Transylvania 2, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, and Hotel Transylvania: Transformania to the mix.
However, Transformania is the only one not to feature Sandler.
Murder Mystery
In the 2019 film, Sandler was joined by co-star and good friend, Jennifer Aniston, who'd previously worked with him in Just Go With It.
The plot followed their journey to rekindle the romance in their marriage, yet a chance encounter lead to them being framed for the murder of an elderly billionaire.
The comedy-mystery movie was actually part of a deal Sandler signed with Netflix and its sequel, Murder Mystery 2, is set to be released later this year.
This time, the couple are venturing into the profession of being full-time detectives in the upcoming movie - but soon find themselves at the centre of international abduction.
Sounds interesting.
But eager fans just have to wait a month or so for the latest addition to the star's filmography set to be released to the streaming platform on 31 March 2023.
