People Gobsmacked By 'Most Cheer-Worthy Moment Of All Time' Winner At Oscars

Spider-Men teaming up, Neo dodging bullets... but the winner has left fans surprised

This year's Oscars allowed fans to vote on the 'most cheer-worthy' movie moment ever – but the winner has left people surprised.

When you think of scenes that have made you want to leap off your seat and shout, what are they? Is it Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's return in No Way Home, or maybe it was Robert Pattinson chasing The Penguin in The Batman, or perhaps it pretty much anything in the climax of Avengers: Endgame?

In a bid to appeal to a broader viewership and get back to the Oscars' heyday of audience numbers, the organisers allowed people to vote on some new categories (they're not official Oscars, don't worry).

The Spider-Men's team-up in No Way Home came in fifth place, followed by Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix, the 'And I'm Telling You' moment in Dreamgirls and 'Avengers, assemble' in Endgame.

In first place, probably as the result of the director's fans swarming the vote, was The Flash's speed force scene from Zack Snyder's Justice League.

One user reacted: "Cheer worthy moments? Number one was from Justice League?!?! Find me a single person who cheered at that? Find me a single person who gives a f*ck."

Another wrote: "Putting Zack Snyder’s Justice League ahead of Endgame for 'cheer-worthy moment' is an incredible troll move by The Oscars."

A third tweeted: "That Oscar movie moments segment – where the greatest movie moment of all time is from Zack Snyder’s Justice League – is a good reminder that we should never let the internet decide anything."

A fourth wrote: "The Oscars being forced to give a 'cheer moment' award to Justice League’s Flash scene because they made it an online poll or whatever is them being exactly as owned as they deserve."

Others have been more congratulatory, with one writing: "Congrats to Zack Snyder’s Justice League’s Flash speed force scene for winning the best cheer moment. It literally beat out the Avengers Assemble scene and the three Spider-Men scene."

Another wrote: "Given the impossible nature of making that film a reality, happy to see Zack and the JL team recognised for their incredible film. The fans love Zack Snyder’s Justice League!"

A third tweeted: "The real reason why Zack Snyder's Justice League won at the Oscars is because a group of fans made their own future and made their own path."
