As a Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) aficionado, I love reading what bizarre fan theories people come up with, which range from the somewhat plausible to the extraordinarily ridiculous.
Falling firmly into the latter category is the theory Ant-Man will be able to crawl his way into Thanos’ anus, quickly expanding when he reaches the gut, destroying the villain from the inside out.
Not only is the theory odd, but it’s also probably feasible because in his Ant-Man suit Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) can shrink to the size of an ant and grow to be around 65 feet tall.
After his shenanigans in Infinity War, it would be a suitably disgusting way to kill off Thanos. Just think about all those purple insides going everywhere. Not very PG-13 though, so I doubt this will be his downfall in Avengers: Endgame.
However, in the latest trailer they do say they’ll do ‘whatever it takes’ to save the world, so you never know…
You can check out that teaser here:
The fan theory has been doing the rounds on social media for about a year now, and has picked up stock in the meme economy as the film’s release date approaches.
Someone has even created a video using footage from previous MCU movies to show what the moment may look like, and it is as funny as you would expect.
YouTube channel Hello There edited the video and shared it on the platform yesterday (March 26), and it’s safe to say fans love it with over 49,000 views at time of writing (March 27).
The 27-second-long video opens with Ant-Man running towards Thanos as he clenches his fist wearing the fully loaded Infinity Gauntlet.
Ant-Man runs past Thanos’ feet, then looks up at the villain’s backside, with the camera zooming in on the buttocks for added effect.
Looking slightly terrified, Ant-Man launches himself up into the air, tearing through the fabric of Thanos’ outfit, heading straight up into his anus.
We know the tiny superhero has reached his destination as Thanos gasps in pain, grabbing his arse in the process.
The video then cuts to Ant-Man who then expands back to his normal size, pushing that important red button.
The last animated shot shows the hero breaking his way out of Thanos’ body, surrounded by the villain’s insides which are flying about. What a lovely sight!

The edited video is impressive, bringing to life a viral fan theory that we would all love to see become reality in Avengers: Endgame.
Avengers: Endgame will be released in the UK on April 25, 2019.
