Star Wars Fans Losing It After Hearing Who’s Voicing Darth Vader In Kenobi

Fans have gone well and truly wild

Star Wars fans have been going well and truly wild after finding out who is voicing the iconic Darth Vader in Disney's spin off Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The long-anticipated show has been dazzling viewers since the first episodes dropped last week, with Ewan McGregor returning as the titular Jedi master.

Set a decade after Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith, the series picks up as Kenobi 'watches over young Luke Skywalker and evades the Empire's elite Jedi hunters during his exile on the desert planet Tatooine.'

Fans have quickly sunk their teeth into the episodes that have dropped so far, but it was during the show's third episode where things ramped up a notch and we finally got a glimpse of the iconic villain, Darth Vader.

The episodes sees Obi-Wan and Darth Vader come face to face, with that intimidating presence never failing to send a shiver down your spine.

But even more terrifying is his iconic voice, and as he spoke his first words of the series, viewers quickly realised he sounded very familiar.

We finally got a glimpse of Darth Vader in episode three.

In the lead up to the series' release, speculation had been swirling online surrounding who would be voicing the Sith Lord, and now it looks like our suspicions have been confirmed. That's right, the iconic James Earl Jones, 91, has reprised his role as the voice of the menacing Vader.

Meanwhile, Hayden Christensen has returned as the villain's body.

It's safe to say fans have descended into a full-blown frenzy after watching the episode. One wrote: "You should have killed me when you had the chance.” VADER IS BACK! THE Darth Vader!!! Hayden Christensen & James Earl Jones!! Absolute goosebumps! This will be a day long remembered!".

"James Earl Jones did a fantastic job of voicing #Vader at 91 years old," said another, while a third added: "That was terrifyingly beautiful."

"Goodness... We are so blessed that James Earl Jones is still healthy and well enough to come back for that iconic voice," tweeted a fourth.

Opening up about bringing the infamous villain back, director Deborah Chow earlier told TVLine: “Bringing back Vader [is] obviously something you don’t want to do lightly, and you don’t want to do it just for the sake of doing it.

“When we started really looking at Obi-Wan’s life and saying, ‘Who’s important in his life? What in his past has affected him?’ so much of that connects back to Anakin that it just felt very organic that it would be part of this series from where we’re coming out in the history.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi is streaming on Disney+ now.
