We can bet when a Storage Wars star chanced his cash on a mini container, he wasn’t expecting to come across illegal property.
The reality competition show has been a firm fixture of American TV since it debuted in 2010.
Aired on the A&E network, the show’s premise sees professional buyers pooling their cash and purchasing storage lockers with rent due.

Before each locker is auctioned, scavengers have just five minutes to assess the contents before playing their bid.
Then, they’re tasked with consulting with experts and trying to make a profit from their gamble.
Over the years, there have been some truly wild moments on the show - such as Rene and Casey Nezhoda discovering otherworldly crystals and Jarrod Schulz and Brandi Passante uncovering an adult My Little Pony.

Another memorable Storage Wars moment was when Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets and his granddaughter Zoe uncovered some illegal items from a mini storage unit.
In season 11, Sheets and his young relative parted with $500 and were pretty much guaranteed to be in profit.
However, The Gambler didn’t exactly bet on discovering some unsellable items.
While rummaging through the unit, the professional buyer uncovered various animal skeletons, including reptiles and rodents.
Speaking to the camera, Sheets assumed that his 'perfect' acquisitions would fetch a lump sum at auction.

Wanting to know more about this peculiar loot and the price he could sell them for, he and his granddaughter headed to The Bone Room to meet with an expert.
At the National History store, the pair spoke to resident bone expert Diana, who appraised the items before delivering a bout of heartbreaking news.
She successfully identified the animal remains as a bat, a bird, a squirrel and a snake before discussing how the remains should have been preserved.
“Ideally, you have this in a controlled situation,” Diana explained. “With beetles eating the flesh off and you get them out before they get through the connective tissues.”

After hearing about his trove, Sheets asked Diana whether she could tell him how much the items would fetch at sale.

However, she dropped a bombshell, saying: “I kind of am suspecting looking at them that this is illegal to sell.
“Yeah, you’re not supposed to sell roadkill.”

Despite being defeated and being unable to sell the skeletons, Sheets told Zoe that she’d be able to keep the animal bones for herself.
After watching the Storage Wars clip, fans have taken to YouTube to have their say, with one writing: “You have to wonder which serial killer did this storage unit belong to?”
A second commented: “Anything has a value.”
“Man I wish I had a truck and a big shed I could try to get back into selling miss it,” typed a third-inspired viewer.
