It feels like an absolute age since Clarkson, Hammond and May announced their new motoring show, following their acrimonious Top Gear exit.

But the trio will finally be returning to our screens with The Grand Tour, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in November.

However, there were rumours floating about that Jezza and the gang could be back on TV after all, with reports suggesting that Amazon could look to sell on the show to the likes of ITV after its release.

In what seemed like incredible news for fans who couldn’t be arsed to join the streaming service, Business Insider UK reported that a secret deal had been made that would bring their show to terrestrial TV.

The source suggested Amazon had agreed to work with talent agency IMG – who look after Jeremy, Richard and James – to license out The Grand Tour in something called ‘second window rights’.

But Amazon has brought our dreams crashing down to earth, after strongly denying these claims – reiterating that they had no plans to sell the rights to other British broadcasters.

Speaking to Digital Spy, an Amazon spokesperson, said:

This is an Amazon Prime exclusive show, we have no plans to sell rights to other broadcasters in the UK.

So it looks like, for now, anyone who wants The Grand Tour goodness better get on Amazon Prime sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment.
