Sometimes when you get lucky you can come across a TV show which is utterly captivating.
The plot takes over your mind, you spend your every waking hour thinking of the characters, and even in the distant future you’ll roar a classic quote out from the bottom of your lungs. ‘Say my name’, is a good example.
But at the end of the day – no matter how much you adore fiction, it is just fiction. Characters are characters, they are not real life. They never lived and will never die – they’re nothing, really.
However sometimes people get caught up in the story a little too much and start taking their anger out on the actors. It’s scripted, they’re not heartless in reality.
The Walking Dead star Josh McDermitt has recently been the butt end of a helluva lot of online abuse – mainly because his character, I repeat, fictional CHARACTER, betrayed Rick Grimes and defected to Negan, according to Digital Spy.
Not only has Josh been getting abuse, he’s also had his fair share of death threats from some unbelievably hardcore fuckwit fans – leading to Josh deleting all of his social media accounts.

In a video shared on the same night as the season seven finale, a clearly fed up Josh says:
Don’t send me death threats, because I will report all that shit to the cops. I’m just sick of it.
You can hate Eugene, I don’t care. You can think whatever you want. But when you start saying you hope I die, I don’t know if you’re talking about Josh or Eugene. I gotta report that shit, so, just don’t be an asshole.
Grow up people.
