As we all just about caught our breathes from the hysterics that the first Deadpool left us in, the release date for its sequel has been announced… it’s June 1, 2018.
Along with this 2018 date, Fox has announced the new secret X-Men: The New Mutants will be released on April 13, 2018, involving a much younger group of mutants than we’re used to.
20th Century Fox also have four more Avatar films as well as X-Men: Dark Phoenix up their sleeves, Empire reports.
Fox have had an absolute banger of a year after Logan ($603 million from a $97 million budget) and Deadpool which made $783 million from a $58 million budget.
Avatar 2 will be released on December 18, 2020, while the next three will follow in December 2021, 2024, and 2025.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is rumoured to be a follow up on the story set up by Apocalypse where a young Jean Grey unleashes her full psychic potential with world-ending consequences.
20th Century Fox
2018 is shaping up to be quite a year for comic book movies with all those in addition to Black Panther (16 Feb), Avengers: Infinity War (4 May), Ant-Man And The Wasp (6 July), Venom (5 October) and Aquaman (21 December)
Just over a year to wait until we see Ryan Reynolds performing perfectly as the cheeky anti-superhero.
Now I can start booking my holidays around June 1.
