Alicia Vikander is ready to kick ass as she takes on the role of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider reboot.
The first trailer dropped today showing Vikander in full on action mode as the famous video game adventurer.
The reboot comes 15 years after Angelina Jolie brought the globetrotting archaeologist to the big screen.

The new Tomb Raider finds a young Lara living in London, haunted by the apparent death of her father.
Setting out on a risky mission to find him, Lara must push herself beyond her limits as she visits the island where her father disappeared.
Vikander spoke to Entertainment Weekly about her character:
She has all the fierce, tough, curious, intelligent traits but we’ve stripped away all of her experience.
She hasn’t gone on an adventure just yet. She thought [her father] was a stuck up businessperson living in the modern youth culture of suburban London, but then this whole box of information. This is the beginning.

The poster, which was released alongside the trailer, has been branded a Photoshop disaster by fans thanks to her overstretched craning neck.
Fans of course took to social media to ‘correct’ it:
Anybody else notice the horrible Photoshop job on the Tomb Raider poster? Left: Theirs Right: My fix up. pic.twitter.com/BSVjOVu2d3

Luckily for Tomb Raider the trailer is amazing and although she’s got big shoes to fill, we reckon Vikander will smash it.
Tomb Raider will be released in cinemas March 16, 2018.
