It’s here. The news you have all been eagerly waiting for is finally here. It’s upon us. The best news of the century. Magic Mike Live is finally coming to the UK later this year.

As if that wasn’t good enough to prick up your ears on a Monday afternoon, Channing Tatum himself has claimed he’d love to be a part of it.

The news was announced by Tatum last night when he appeared on the final of Britain’s Got Talent, stunning fans with his cameo appearance, to announce the West End-run of the hugely successful Las Vegas show Magic Mike Live.

Speaking on Britain’s Got Talent last night, the American actor explained that there’s just one thing he needs to do first before he can star in the show.

He explained:

If I ever get in shape again then I’ll definitely do it. I got to go do a movie that’ll make me get in shape again and then I’ll do it.

I would love to come to London. If I dance in Vegas I’m definitely going to dance here.

If you want to see Tatum performing the show, based on the films he wrote and starred in about his life as a stripper in Florida when he was 18, then they’ll be on stage at the Hippodrome Casino in Leicester Square in November.

After just an hour of making the announcement, 15,000 tickets had already sold.

If you want to get down to one of the shows, you can buy your ticket here.

Channing Tatum has always been pretty open about his past career as a stripper, surprisingly though, the 38-year-old actor told the whole of Hollywood about his exotic dancing job before he told his own dad.

Tatum’s father Glenn actually only found out about it after he saw his son giving Ellen DeGeneres a lap dance on her chat show in February 2010.

The Step Up star said on The Jimmy Kimmel Show:

That was my very first time on your show, and I got to let you know that that was the very first time that my dad actually found out that I was a stripper for a short time.

In his past, Tatum used to strip in Tampa ‘for like 25 girls, at best’ and he confessed it ‘wasn’t glamorous whatsoever’ so he didn’t miss anything about it.

Footage from a vintage 2010 interview on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, where she asked a long-haired Channing about his stripper career, was shown on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night.

He gave the comedian a mini lap dance and hip grind while the audience all screamed and cheered him on… and no doubt his dad was screaming in shock at home.

Ellen had no idea that she broke the surprising news to his dad and asked, ‘wait, your dad didn’t know you were stripper until that day? How did he take it?’

It turns out that Glenn didn’t take it well, ‘Really, really not well.’ Yikes.
