Royal Mail are releasing limited edition Harry Potter stamps and you’ll definitely want to start writing letters just so you can use them.
The limited edition stamps are, unfortunately, probably the closest we’re going to get to receiving a letter from Hogwarts, but once you’ve plastered your favourite Wizarding World image onto an envelope you almost won’t mind.
The stamps feature a range of iconic Harry Potter-related images, including the faces of Harry, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Ginny Weasley and Neville Longbottom, as well as the Hogwarts Express, Hagrid’s enchanted motorbike, the Weasley’s infamous flying car and the Knight Bus.
The stamps will add a magical touch to your letters, and they’ll probably assist in a much smoother delivery than Ron’s owl Errol was ever involved in.
Adding an even more exciting element to something that would usually be considered quite mundane, the stamps have secret intricate details that can only be discovered by using a magic wand – aka an ultraviolet light.
Making them as authentic as possible, the creative stamps even have numbers formed in the shape of Harry’s telltale scar. I don’t think Voldemort would have been too pleased about receiving one of the stamps during any of his correspondence with death eaters, but that’s his own problem.
There are 15 limited edition stamps in total, and they will be available from October 16.
Philip Parker from Royal Mail said:
The Harry Potter movies continue to thrill and delight audiences of all ages.
The goal with our stamps is to capture the excitement of the Wizarding World and the heroism of the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The postal service shared the announcement on Twitter, writing:
In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, we’re celebrating the Harry Potter film series with the release of 15 Special Stamps. The stamps also include hidden details that are only visible under ultraviolet light.

Fans of the magical movies can’t wait to start using the special edition stamps, and have taken to social media to share their excitement.
One person’s friends are about to be bombarded with Potter-adorned letters:
People are about to start receiving letters just so I can use those Harry Potter stamps. Going to send my friends uselessness every day.
While another fan is planning on keeping the stamps for themselves:
I’m looking forward to the new Harry Potter stamps coming out. I’ll be a complete dork and collect them all.
