Horrifying footage has emerged of a man threatening staff at a McDonald’s with a knife, before running away with a box full of Monopoly stickers.
The video shows the hooded, masked man walking briskly towards and then behind the counter into the kitchen area of the Hayes, west London branch, opening the dividing barrier to let himself past.
He picks up a box containing promotional McDonald’s stickers and vouchers, and starts to make off with it. All the while he’s holding a knife in his gloved hand.
When an unnamed cashier attempts to intervene and make a grab for the box, he waves the knife at them in a threatening manner before running backwards and then legging it out of the fast food restaurant.
The incident took place on Coldharbour Lane at around 2pm on March 23, 201. Police officers have now released the footage with hopes of tracing and identifying the suspect in question.
Detective Constable Emma Brookes, from Hillingdon CID, stated:
We are appealing for anyone who may know who was involved in this robbery.
Although he had his face covered, it is possible that someone may recognise his clothing, or may have heard someone talking about this robbery.
The suspect has been described as a black man, wearing a two tone hooded top with dark and grey colours. He also wore white gloves, black trousers and black shoes.

This news follows a similar incident in nearby Ealing – a mere ten miles away – where a man leapt over a McDonald’s counter to snatch a roll of Monopoly vouchers before darting off while his companion laughs.
Footage of the crime was uploaded to social media and ended with the man showing off the stolen vouchers before the camera.
Monopoly vouchers contained a number of potential prizes, ranging from free value meals and Missguided vouchers, to a Mini Cooper and £100,000 in cash. The competition – which began 21 March – ended as of May 1.
Meanwhile, alarming footage has emerged from a Romford, East London branch of McDonald’s showing customers fleeing in fear as a man enters the restaurant holding a knife.
The 18-year-old man proceeded to chuck furniture around and was later arrested.
A Met spokesperson stated:
On Sunday, 29 April at around 19:55hrs, police received multiple reports of a man armed with a knife in McDonald’s at The Brewery in Romford.
Officers from Romford Town Centre responded within minutes, and a man made off from police. The man discarded a large hunting knife when he made off.
He was detained nearby and the knife was recovered. Enquiries are ongoing.
