Bethesda Want You To Vote On Doom’s Alternate Box Art

Sorry, but Doom’s box art is fucking poor. Look at it. It’s just above these words. You can’t miss it. What is that? If I didn’t already know what Doom was about as a franchise there’s no way I’d be picking what looks like Generic FPS #666

It seems the majority of fans feel the same way, and Bethesda has responded via Twitter poll asking us to choose between two reversible alternate covers for the game. You can take a look at them below.

Now, I’m not in the business of telling you how to live your life, but it’s pretty obvious that the second image should win. At the time of writing you’ve got three days left to vote, and 41,772 votes have been cast.

Unsurprisingly, of those 41,772, 69% have gone for option number two. It’s not that the first picture’s bad – if we’d gotten that one in the first place I doubt anyone would have minded – it’s just that the second image is a glorious pictorial representation of what makes Doom so great.

Doom hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC worldwide on May 13. I can confidently state we’ll all be reversing the cover art as soon as we pick our copies up.
