Last week, BioWare teased that a new Dragon Age game – likely Dragon Age 4 – would be announced soon, with many believing that the game will be revealed during The Game Awards.
Well, it finally happened. BioWare boss Casey Hudson appeared at the awards show to show off Anthem, but later on during the show we were treated to a mysterious teaser, with the hashtag The Dread Wolf Rises.
While Dragon Age wasn’t specifically mentioned, fans will know that the Dread Wolf is a specific reference to the popular RPG franchise – Fen’Harel, the elven god of betrayal so we finally have official word!
Check out the teaser below.
So why has it taken so long just to get an announcement for a new Dragon Age? Apparently, EA had insisted BioWare put all of its efforts into Anthem, and that’s been the case for a few years now as the publisher reportedly feels the pressure to deliver a hit.
VentureBeat notes that one of the big reasons we’re even getting a Dragon Age 4 reveal at The Game Awards is because BioWare have been pushing hard for it, keen to let the fans know they have a passion for the franchise and haven’t forgotten about it.
We got nothing beyond that very brief tease, but it’s great to know that a new entry is coming, after all this time.
