The hype for Gears of War 4 is slowly rising from the depths. Last week, Microsoft introduced us to three of the main characters (including the son of Marcus Fenix from the previous games). Now we’ve got a whole bunch of sexy new screenshots to feast our eyes on.
These screens come as part of Game Informer’s cover story, and showcase all kinds of new treats. There are some terrifying looking new enemies called Juvies – that’s the slimy white thing in the top image.
There’s also a gorgeous but deadly natural phenomenon called windflares that can burn enemies (and you) to a crisp, which you can see above.
Finally, there are two images that show off new and exciting ways to murder your enemies in the goriest way possible. There’s also a combat knife that can be rammed through the face of your foe if you’re tired of chopping them up with your chainsaw – take a look:
And then we have a brand new vault kick move which can be used to spring out from behind your cover and boot your opponent in the face – it looks pretty sweet.
Gears of War 4 will launch sometime before the end of 2016 for Xbox One. There’s a “possible” PC version under consideration, too.
