This is probably the most ambitious Fallout 4 mod yet – a dedicated crew have banded together to create an entirely new post apocalyptic campaign, set in Seattle.
Dubbed Fallout Cascadia, the mod is shaping up to be just a bit smaller than Fallout 3, but with more quests and locations than Far Harbor, the recent Fallout 4 expansion. That’s pretty fucking big.
The team currently has 18 members actively working on the project, which has been in development for six months. Sadly, there aren’t any videos or particularly interesting images just yet (all we have is the above screenshot).
Here’s how the team describe it:
Cascadia is an upcoming new world-space mod for Fallout 4 set in a retro-futuristic post-apocalyptic version of Seattle and the surrounding areas. Users will start a new adventure entirely separate from the main game. Inside the mod, players will find new quests that challenge them mentally and morally, locations that tell a story, and factions that are vying for control.
You can expect to find locations such as Mercer Island, Redmond, and Bellevue alongside forested areas and airports. One aim of Fallout Cascadia is to make a believable world, something Bethesda has always excelled at.
The team are currently being realistic in terms of when the mod will see the light of day. Although the official Creation Kit has moved things along nicely, we shouldn’t expect to see it for a few years.
Remember, this is a bunch of people working on a huge project in their free time, so it’ll obviously take a while. Whenever it does come out, it’ll be free to download.
