Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered is getting a fairly sizable December update, which is great news for the six or seven people who own it.
I’m kidding of course – there are at least 12 active players. Anyway, the game’s multiplayer mode is getting six more maps, bringing the grand total up to 16 – every base game map from the 2007 original.
The new maps include classics Bloc, Countdown, Pipeline, Showdown, Strike, and Wet Work, as well as the Winter Crash map, which was previously only available on the PC version of the game.
Since it’s a December update, we can also expect two lovely holiday-themed weapon camos in the form of Gift Wrap and Ugly Sweater. These can be unlocked by besting challenges in the Winter Crash map.
Gun Game and Hardpoint are two new modes that have been added to playlists, while a ton of new personalisation items and characters – including female fighters – have been included, marking the first time a playable female fighter has appeared in Modern Warfare.
Check out the trailer for the whole festive package below.
Of course, Modern Warfare Remastered is only available to those who picked up one of the pricey special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. It remains to be seen if it’ll ever get a standalone release.
For now though, Infinite Warfare will be playable for free for a time starting on December 15 – it’ll include the campaign’s first two missions, multiplayer with a level cap of 15, and Zombies in Spaceland with a level cap of 3.
