Surprise! We’re getting a brand new Mortal Kombat game in April. NetheRealm boss Ed Boon took to the stage during The Game Awards to show off a brutal new trailer.
Check it out below. It kind of speaks for itself really – this is Mortal Kombat as we know and love it. Bloody, brutal, and over the top.
In addition to a detailed story mode, NetherRealm even teased a brand new character customisation option to go with all the blood and carnage, so you can create your own avatar before Scorpion rips its head off.
The trailer’s YouTube description reads:
The all new Custom Character Variations give you unprecedented control to customize the fighters and make them your own. The new graphics engine showcasing every skull-shattering, eye-popping moment, brings you so close to the fight you can feel it. And featuring a roster of new and returning Klassic Fighters, Mortal Kombat’s best in class cinematic story mode continues the epic saga over 25 years in the making.
Mortal Kombat 11 will launch April 23, with a full reveal coming on January 17.
