Gamers everywhere rejoice! The Spyro the Dragon trilogy is getting a remaster and rerelease, according to reports.
The Playstation game is reportedly set to be announced in March 2018 and will be released sometime toward the end of this year, according to Kotaku.
The trilogy will follow in the footsteps of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and will feature new assets, animations and new cinematics.
The remaster will include Spyro the Dragon, Ripto’s Rage! and Year of the Dragon and could possibly include content which was cut from the original games.
The remaster is coming to PS4 and one source has suggested the game will drop in September, which will be Spyro’s 20th anniversary.
It’s unlikely the announcement will detail this, but the game is apparently set to be a one-year timed exclusive for PS4, before it gets opened up to other systems in 2019.
This would follow in the footsteps of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, which is expected to hit multiple consoles this year.
Studio Vicarious Visions, who worked on the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, is working on the project, so fingers crossed it’s as good!
