PES 2017 Announced, Promising ‘New Heights’ For The Franchise

In a move that should surprise nobody. Konami has officially announced PES 2017, the latest entry in their annual football franchise.

In a press release, Konami promises to bring the series to a “whole new level”, reaching new heights of realism and fun. You will have fun, or Konami will get you.

The focus on this year’s edition of Pro Evolution Soccer is to highlight the fun of playing against another player, and the new features strive to represent that.

One such system is “real touch” which Konami describes as a feature that will “authentically” reproduce a variety of ways players can receive and control the ball.

Depending on the player, different techniques will have to be used, in an effort to demonstrate the subtle nuances of the pass.

Another new feature is the “precise pass” system, which Konami describe:

Precise Pass extends the Real Touch basis of using the ability of the player with the ball to determine the accuracy of each pass. The movement of the ball in relation to the position of the player and the intended target for the pass all contribute towards its accuracy, adding a genuine feeling of excitement when a defense is split with an inch-perfect ball.

You can learn more about PES 2017’s shiny new features over at their website. The game will run on Konami’s Fox Engine, the same engine used for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

You can pick up PES 2017 this Autumn for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
