The good folk at Blizzard have announced a shiny HD remake of the classic RTS StarCraft, and it’s looking good.
Imaginatively titled StarCraft:Remastered, the game includes all the content from the base game, as well as the Brood War expansion.
Check out the announcement trailer below:
New features include improved audio, and visuals which have been bumped up to ‘4K ultra high definition’, while handy new features such as matchmaking have also been chucked in.
We’re also getting new illustrations to ‘enhance storytelling’ in the campaign missions, widescreen support, and ‘full connectivity’ to Blizzard’s online network.
Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said in a statement:
With StarCraft: Remastered, we’re modernizing the original game’s visuals, audio, and online support to ensure that players can enjoy StarCraft for another 20 years and beyond. While these improvements will bring StarCraft to the modern era, gameplay and balance have been precisely preserved, for an experience that will feel identical to veteran players.
StarCraft: Remastered is expected to come to Windows PC and Mac this Summer.
