Activision have decided to release a taster version of Black Ops 3 through Steam. The Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack is £11.59 and serves as a multiplayer-only edition. This means no zombies, no campaign, and a level cap of 55.
It’s a savvy move. There may well be people out there who don’t wanna throw down £40 for a game they might not enjoy, and free demos with heavily limited content aren’t always reliable representations. Paying a small amount for a decent portion of the game is a fair way to see how you feel about Black Ops 3.
The Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack, lets you play online multiplayer and access certain features, including the Weapon Paint Shop, Gunsmith, Arena, and Theatre.
If you like what you’ve played, you can upgrade to the full game for an additional £28.40, or net yourself the deluxe version for an extra £58.40 (which is the full game plus a season pass).
The starter pack is only available on PC through Steam, and you can only buy it till February 29. Make your mind up quick, then.
