The Last Of Us 2 Was Teased Earlier This Year And Nobody Noticed

The Last of Us 2 was probably the biggest surprise of Sony’s recent PlayStation event, but it turns out the post-apocalyptic sequel was actually teased back in September, and nobody realised.

Developer Naughty Dog released a wonderful bit of artwork to celebrate Outbreak Day (the date when the in-game virus began causing chaos), which you can check out below.

The above image should be especially familiar to fans now, since the moth/plant motif looks almost exactly the same as the tattoo we see on Ellie’s arm during the reveal trailer.

Naughty Dog recently released some concept art for the tattoo in question (which you can see below), so you should be able to see the similarities pretty clearly.

The Last of Us Part 2 is set to focus on Ellie as a playable character rather than Joel, so the promotional artwork featuring on her and her trusty switchblade makes sense.

The Last of Us Part 2 is apparently still ‘a ways off’, but I’m sure everyone will be watching Naughty Dog like a hawk from now on, in case they slip out any further teases.
