Coleen Rooney has finally spoken out about her rumoured split from footballer-husband Wayne.
The 31-year-old WAG posted a refreshingly honest status on her Facebook account, revealing she’s giving her nine-year marriage a second chance after the Everton striker’s ‘silly and selfish mistake’.
Coleen, who is currently expecting her fourth child with Wayne – her childhood sweetheart – addressed the pair’s relationship, following his anticts back in September, where he was arrested for drink driving, while in the company of another woman.
The WAG went on to explain, in an emotional message, why she’s been spotted without her wedding ring in recent weeks, how she’s a ‘strong person’ and why she ‘doesn’t need people to feel sorry for her.
The post reads:
Before all the stories begin, Yes, I have put my wedding ring on……. A lot of people will be saying “you don’t have to explain yourself, don’t feel like you have to do this” etc, I know I don’t, but I am and I want to.
It didn’t feel right wearing my ring, I see it as a sign of commitment and I was unsure what was happening. I don’t always wear my ring day to day, especially when I go the gym.
Addressing comments from those who have labelled her ‘naive’ and ‘stupid’, Coleen continued:
A few people are probably thinking am [sic] stupid for staying in my marriage. I am not stupid, I know my own mind and it’s something I want to try and work on.
Before the headlines start…. No, I’m not taking Wayne back as he’s never left. Yes, it has been a sh*t time, and yes, time was spent apart and I thought my marriage might have been at an end.
I’m not going to list Wayne’s good qualities as a person as I don’t think he deserves it at this time but one thing is that he is a brilliant dad.
He’s made silly and selfish mistakes, some he’s learnt from, some obviously not. However maybe that will change? In life, you don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow.
Seemingly addressing Rooney’s infamous night out in September, where he was caught with Laura Simpson, drink driving behind the wheel of her car, Coleen stated:
One thing I do know is that too much alcohol on a night out is a dangerous and a lot of stupid mistakes are made and things are said under the influence.
I would never trust ANYONE who has had a lot of alcohol, it changes some people drastically.
It’s my decision …. do I love Wayne … yes I do. If I didn’t then I wouldn’t be trying to make it work.
I know I would be fine on my own, with just me and my children, but I don’t want to live like that, I want to try and continue our marriage and live as a family, because that’s what I want to do.
Wayne and Coleen have been married since 2008 and are expecting their fourth child in early 2018.
Coleen’s timing of her post comes after she was pictured leaving her local gym, with her wedding band noticeably absent from her hand.
The open and honest Facebook message has been met with a positive response from her fanbase, with the majority wishing her luck and brandishing her ‘brave’.
Jean Tremarco wrote:
What a brave and honest statement to make Coleen. You are a wonderful person with a beautiful family and I admire you.
I wish you all the very best and hope the future brings love, peace and happiness.
While another person, Mary Ritchie, commented:
Good luck to you both! You are a strong woman and I admire you for being so strong.
Critics can have their opinion and like you have said you are a normal person, wife and mother so now I hope you are left alone to continue working to make your marriage work.

Whatever Coleen decides to do, or not to do, at least she's not getting abuse for once - she is a person, with feelings, after all!
Far be it for me - or any of us - to judge how a woman chooses to spend her life, whether it be the way she makes her living, or as a mother choosing how to raise her children.
Good luck to them both!
