Vegetarians rejoice! There’s another option at McDonald’s now with the introduction of a ‘Halloumi Muffin’ on their breakfast menu.
The delicious and healthy looking McMuffin includes a chunky slice of halloumi cheese, topped with tomato, lettuce and olive paste.
Sadly, this option is only currently available in McDonald’s Arabia, which includes Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain.
The description of the Halloumi Muffin reads:
Close your eyes and taste the delightful flavour of grilled halloumi with crisp, shredded lettuce, a juicy tomato slice and our savoury olive paste. Oh what a delicious surprise.
The squeaky cheese muffins will only be available at breakfast time, and we're hoping they'll make their way across the pond to the UK and US soon.
In addition to the revolutionary halloumi muffin, McDonald's have heard our calls for 24 hour access to chicken nuggets.
The fast food chain recently announced it would be serving chicken nuggets all day, as opposed to when we used to have to wait until after breakfast for the golden mouthfuls of joy.
Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, Cheeseburgers, Chicken McNuggets and French Fries will now be served around the clock on the All Day Favourites menu, meaning when the nugg pangs strike, McDonald's will be there...if you're in Australia.
Yep, that's the catch. The 'All Day Favourites' menu is currently only being trialled down under, but if it works out, hopefully we'll also be rewarded.
Just when you were thinking UK McDonald's doesn't get any new cool stuff, I'll remind you you're wrong.
British branches of the US chain have decided to ditch plastic straws in favour of a more environmentally friendly version.
So not only do we win, the planet wins.
From May, McDonald's will be trialling paper straws in some of its restaurants, and you'll have to ask if you want to use one as they'll be kept behind the counters.
I'll leave you with this:
What did the cheese say to himself in the mirror?
