The image was posted on the app Figure 1, a place where healthcare staff around the world share medical images and canvass their colleagues’ opinions.
The doctor who posted the picture said that all the man’s fingers worked normally – and he also had an extra toe on each foot!
Having an extra digit is known as polydactyly and isn’t as rare as you may think – it affects one in every 500 births.
The actress Gemma Arterton was born with an extra digit on each hand, with the doctor who delivered her simply tying around them, leaving them to fall off with only small scars remaining.
The actor described it as
My little oddity that I’m really proud of. People are really interested, but repulsed at the same time.
I guess some people really are all fingers and thumbs!
