Our Facebook and Instagram feeds are filled with transformation posts but one woman has gone viral for posting a rather unusual one.
26-year-old Jolene Jones, a former bodybuilder from Montana, USA, recently went viral after sharing a body positive transformation picture after gaining 25 pounds.
Jolene shared the before and after photos on Facebook showcasing her transformation from ‘bodybuilder to body lover’.
Jolene’s life used to revolve around meticulous dieting and devoting a lot of her day to working out in the gym.
But when her coach told her that she had to lose another 30 pounds, Jolene decided to quit and dramatically change her lifestyle.
No longer a bodybuilder, Jolene is now 25 pounds heavier but most importantly, she’s a lot happier.
In her Facebook post, Jolene wrote:
I went from being controlled by my gruelling gym regime and weighing chicken and having protein shakes in my purse to fully enjoy a social life.
Some people might say this is ‘letting yourself go’ but you can’t put a price tag on happiness.
I call this finding myself and realising I can have more than one passion in life, whether it’s hiking up in Glacier Park or enjoying beers with friends.
A six pack didn’t make me happy. I was never enough and always needing to improve.
Your body is quite LITERALLY the only thing that gets you through this life, your worth and joy isn’t weighed by what you can lift or what the scale says.
My worth is weighed by those I surround myself with and the smile on my face.
You can tell from the photos Jolene is posting on social media that she is much happier now – and loves her body.
These beautiful gorgeous women influence me on the daily. I'm encouraged to believe in myself when I feel down, and reminded not to give up when it feels like the end. Grateful to call these empowering, beautiful and inspiring women my friends. ?#bodylover #birthdaygirl #dinner #sushi #framily #27 #cheers #inspirationstation
Thousands of people have responded positively to the empowering post which has had nearly 50,000 shares on Facebook.
In the comments users have been writing about how much they ‘love this’ and many have called Jolene ‘sexy and beautiful’.
We think she looks great and it’s fantastic to see that she’s doing what makes her happy.
